From March 1943, the former coolie hospital and outbuildings at the Soengeibras tobacco plantation were used as a gathering camp for “European” men and boys from Medan, Pematangsiantar, Brastagi and Bindjei. The buildings were encircled with barbed wire. At the beginning of October 1944 the civilian internees were taken elsewhere - Aek Pamienke, Si Rengorengo, Padanghalaban - and the camp was for a short time a prisoner of war camp.

From mid-March 1943, the former coolie hospital and outbuildings at the Soengeibras tobacco plantation were used as a gathering camp for “European” men and boys. After these civilian internees were taken elsewhere, the “Atjeh Party” arrived at the camp on 10 October 1944: 458 Dutch, British and Australian prisoners of war who had worked on the road from Blangkedjeren to Takengon (Takingeun), and who could get their strength back in Soengeisengkol. On 26 October, they left on foot for Medan, to be sent on from there to the Pakanbaroe railway line.
